The mandate of this department is to:
- Facilitate tourism development (Transport, Immigration, Utilities, private sector and financing)
- Oversee the development , implementation and review of revenue collection systems; (Zimbabwe Tourism Fund)
- Oversee the identification and innovation of new tourism products and activities within the guidelines of tourism development plans
- Develop quality assurance standards in line with international best practices
- Monitor standards of tourism facilities and product offered
- Facilitate implementation of tourism policies by Parastatals (ZTA, MOSI)
- Facilitate and promote Tourism Investments in Zimbabwe
