Zimbabwe stands at the threshold of unprecedented growth, where tourism is a crucial pillar in our national development strategy. His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, envisions a prosperous Zimbabwe anchored on economic development, inclusivity, and sustainability. It is within this framework that the Ministry is committed to achieving a $5 billion tourism economy by 2025, in line with Vision 2030.

To realize this ambitious goal, our ministry has adopted a cluster-based approach to tourism development. These clusters are designed to focus on different key areas of the tourism industry, allowing for targeted growth and the maximization of each sector’s potential. The major clusters include Eco-tourism, Cultural and Heritage Tourism, Sports Tourism, and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) Tourism. Each of these clusters contributes uniquely to the overall development of the sector, creating diversified and sustainable tourism products.

The tourism industry is central to Zimbabwe’s economic recovery and growth. It plays a vital role in unlocking the potential of various sectors, enhancing livelihoods, and showcasing our country to the world. Under the leadership of His Excellency, President Mnangagwa, we are steadfast in our pursuit of the $5 billion tourism economy target, which is integral to the broader national development agenda.

The Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry is committed to realizing His Excellency, the President’s vision for a middle-income Zimbabwe by 2030. Our sector is poised to contribute significantly to this vision, with a clear target of reaching a $5 billion tourism economy by 2025. This ambitious goal requires strategic planning, innovation, and collective action from all industry players.
