The mandate of this department:

  • Manage the development and implementation of policies and programmes to facilitate growth of regional and international tourism
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies to promote tourism to international and regional markets.
  • Facilitate the negotiation, formulation and review the implementation of bilateral, regional, and multilateral agreements.
  • Facilitate International Tourism awareness and advocacy programmes through attending international tourism fairs and conferences to promote the destination abroad.
  • Facilitate the building of partnerships with international tourism organizations, agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the tailor marketing of campaigns to attract specific international tourists and regional visitors.
  • Facilitate, coordinate and liaise with Foreign Tourism Offices (FTOs) and Embassies with regard to tourism development issues.
